Thinking of buying a backlink service? We explain what manual backlink packages actually deliver, what they cost in India, how long they take, and when a one-click tool does the job instead.
Search for "backlink service" and you will find hundreds of offers: "100 high-DA backlinks", "500 manual backlinks in 7 days", "monthly SEO link package". Most of them sell the same thing: people placing links by hand on other websites, for a fee per link or per package.
Some of these services are genuine. Many are not. And for one common goal, getting a new website or page discovered, you may not need a service at all.

What a manual backlink service actually does
A manual backlink service has staff or freelancers create links to your site by hand. Depending on the package, that can mean:
- Profile and directory links. Creating accounts on forums, directories and social sites, with your URL in the profile.
- Web 2.0 posts. Short articles on free blogging platforms that link to you. See our guide to Web 2.0 backlinks.
- Blog comments and forum posts. Comments with a link back to your site.
- Guest posts and niche edits. Articles on real websites, or links added to existing articles, usually for a fee paid to the site owner.
The first three are cheap, fast to produce and mostly nofollow. Guest posts and niche edits can be valuable, but they are also where most paid link schemes live.
What they cost and how long they take
Prices vary widely. Packages on freelance marketplaces are often advertised for a few hundred to a few thousand rupees for "hundreds of backlinks". Guest posts on real, relevant websites usually cost far more per link, and good agencies charge monthly retainers.

The risk most packages do not mention
Google's spam policies treat links bought to manipulate rankings as link spam. That includes paying for links that pass ranking credit without a rel="sponsored" or nofollow attribute, and large-scale schemes that place the same kind of link on hundreds of low-quality pages. At best, Google ignores those links. At worst, a site gets a manual action.

When a manual service is worth paying for
- Real outreach and digital PR. Getting featured by journalists, industry sites or partners takes human work, and good agencies do it well. See digital PR for small business.

- Content partnerships. A clearly labelled sponsored article on a relevant site can bring real readers.
In all three cases you are paying for judgement, relationships and writing, not for raw link counts.

It depends on what they do. Services that earn editorial links through outreach, or set up accurate business listings, are safe. Services that sell large numbers of dofollow links on low-quality pages break Google's link spam policies and can hurt your site.
Is a one-click backlink tool the same as buying backlinks?
No. You are not paying anyone to place links that pass ranking credit. A one-click tool submits your own URL to public lookup and search pages, which mostly produce nofollow mentions. You pay for the software, not for links.
How long does a one-click run take?
